The Prosecution decided to not continue the investigation of Laura's accusations against Andrea Molinari. Vanessa reports to Andrea that the charges against him have fallen and while the man is relieved, Laura is increasingly convinced of the guilt of the doctor, especially after the earring found on her teddy bear, at her home. Because of this she decides to leave for Rome and make her own personal investigations about the past of Andrea Molinari and on the presumed suicide of his wife. Andrea tries to move on instead: he sends a letter to Laura through his lawyer, goes out with a girl known on a dating site, asks the health director to return to work. Meanwhile, a mysterious figure wanders around the house of Vanessa, who, while sleeping, is touched by this last one. When the woman wakes up, stunned and confused, discovers she has blood loss and runs to the hospital terrified by the loss of her baby. Laura, returned from Rome empty-handed, finds the letter in which Andrea threatens to sue her, and runs to his house to face him, furious and determined to unveil the true nature of the respectable Andrea Molinari.
